Loan for starters in the housing market continues

More and more municipalities are deciding to continue to provide the so-called starters loan, even though the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment has indicated that the money for this project has run out.

In May, the response from lenen-geld-lenen.nl already reported that it is no longer possible for starters to get a free loan. It now appears that many municipalities are helping to still be able to offer these loans.

Starters can get an interest-free loan of up to US $ 30,000. The Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment put half of that money on the table, but is now cutting it away. The municipality and the province each paid 25 percent. The municipality is now taking over the share of the ministry and will therefore soon pay for three-quarters of the amounts to be paid out.

The loans turn out to be a great success. Several municipalities come out with good results. In the municipality of Bergen op Zoom, for example, 73 starters were helped in this way with financing their first home in the past year.
